News: The Redskins have released Porter, the Washington Post reports.
Impact: The release of Porter, who was limited to three games for Washington last season due to hamstring and shoulder injuries, saves the team $2.2 million against the salary cap. Porter became expendable due to the emergence of 2014 fourth-rounder Bashaud Breeland as well as the free agent addition of Chris Culliver.
