News: Greene returned to practice Thursday after sitting out Tuesday's session, Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports.
Impact: Greene, who is working his way back from an offseason knee issue, was given a scheduled off day from practice Tuesday, but he's back in business Thursday. As the summer rolls along, Greene figures to jostle with rookie Bishop Sankey for slotting atop the Titans' RB depth chart, with Dexter McCluster on hand in a change-of-pace role and Leon Washington and Antonio Andrews also in reserve.

News: Preston is being evaluated for a concussion, Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports.
Impact: Considering that the collision during Tuesday's practice kept Preston on the ground before the team's training staff assisted him, it wouldn't be a surprise if he sustained some sort of head trauma. The third-year pro is competing for a depth role at receiver.

News: Updating a previous report, Walker suffered a shoulder injury in Tuesday's practice, Terry McCormick of TitansInsider.com reports.
Impact: Walker took a shot to the chest a day earlier and it was believed he was experiencing problems with that region of the body Tuesday, prior to the team's more accurate update on Walker's condition after the session. The injury isn't believed to be serious for Walker, who will surely benefit from the team's scheduled day off of practice Wednesday.

News: Updating a previous report, Greene did not suffer a recurrence of his knee injury during Tuesday's practice, Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said he just wanted to give Greene a day off to recuperate from Monday's session.
Impact: The Titans won't practice Wednesday, effectively giving Greene two days to rest up from Monday's rigorous workload. With Greene fully expected back on the field Thursday, both he and Bishop Sankey should remain engaged in a neck-and-neck battle for the No. 1 running back gig.

News: Walker suffered a chest injury early in Tuesday's practice and was held out of team drills, John Glennon of the Tennessean reports.
Impact: Walker took a big hit to the chest from teammate Wesley Woodyard during Monday's practice and visited with the trainer before working out Tuesday. Though he ended up sitting out the team drills, his presence on the field for all other activities suggests that he's probably just being considered day-to-day for now.

News: Preston left Tuesday's practice early with an undisclosed injury, John Glennon of the Tennessean reports.
Impact: It's not immediately clear what type of injury Preston sustained, but he was down on the ground for several moments, requiring medical attention from the team staff. He was able to leave the field under his own power and didn't return to practice. Expect the team to provide an update on his status after the session.

News: Greene appears to have suffered a setback in his recovery from a knee injury and will not practice Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports.
Impact: After assuming a large workload Monday, Greene was prepared to do the same again Tuesday, but ended up departing the practice early. He later returned from the locker room to work out on his own on the side practice field, but it could still be a few more days before the Titans clear him to rejoin team sessions. Greene's absence from practice will clear the way for rookie Bishop Sankey to pick up added reps, which should only help him in his bid for the starting running back job.

News: Greene (knee), who didn't participate in any of the Titans' OTAs or minicamp, saw his biggest workload in training camp to date Monday, the team's official site reports.
Impact: The good news is that Greene's knee is holding up fine thus far, but after missing time this offseason, Greene needs the reps, as coach Ken Whisenhunt acknowledged that the veteran running back could stand to lose 5-to-10 pounds at this stage. In any case, Greene has newcomer Bishop Sankey to contend with for touches this season, with the report adding that early on, Whisenhunt has been impressed with Greene's rookie competitor.

News: Wreh-Wilson started at cornerback opposite Jason McCourty during Sunday's practice, ESPN.com reports.
Impact: Wreh-Wilson is currently in the thick of a competition with Coty Sensabaugh to fill the Titans' second starting cornerback position. While Sensabaugh practiced with the first-team defense to open camp, Wreh-Wilson got his turn Sunday. The 2013 third-rounder reportedly held his own against touted teammate Justin Hunter, which should help Wreh-Wilson's chances moving forward, although his position battle with Sensabaugh is far from over.

News: Brown is being closely monitored during training camp to solidify his starting inside linebacker position, the Tennessean reports.
Impact: Brown followed up a highly impressive rookie campaign with a more turbulent season in 2013, when he made 91 tackles (72 solo), four sacks, and one interception. While his production looks good, he still has room to grow in fulfilling his potential, according to the Titans' new coaching staff. The dynamic linebacker has opened training camp starting next to Wesley Woodyard in Tennessee's 3-4 scheme and could cement that position with focused play leading up to the regular season. Should Brown lock down steady playing time, he offers intriguing upside, as he's averaged 92 tackles and posted 9.5 sacks during his first couple seasons.

News: Levitre, who had his appendix removed Thursday, figures to miss a couple of weeks of action, ESPN.com reports.
Impact: The issue shouldn't impact Levitre's regular season status, but it figures to pave the way for Chris Spencer and rookie Taylor Lewan to see added practice action at left guard in the short-term.
Fri. July 25, 2014 | STATS
News: Levitre is starting training camp on the non-football injury list after having an appendectomy the day before the Titans reported.
Impact: Coach Ken Whisenhunt joked Friday that Levitre came up with the worst excuse for getting out of the running test that he's seen. Levitre had surgery Thursday and wrote on Twitter that the procedure went great and that he can't wait to get back on the field.

News: Greene (knee) is expected to practice with the Titans on Saturday, Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports.
Impact: Greene underwent a minor knee procedure this offseason, but the team will exercise caution in working him back into the mix. His knee hasn't shown any swelling to date, but the Titans don't plan on pushing him too hard early in camp. Once training camp heats up, Greene should feel a strong push from rookie Bishop Sankey, who will look to cut into his carries this season.

News: The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with left tackle Taylor Lewan, making the 11th overall selection out of Michigan the last of this year's draft picks to reach a deal. The Titans announced the deal Thursday. The Titans report for training camp Friday.
Impact: Lewan reportedly received a four-year deal worth $11.5 million with a signing bonus of $6.7 million. The 6-foot-7, 309-pound Lewan was an AP All-American and a two-time Big Ten offensive lineman of the year.

News: Lewan has agreed to terms with the Titans on his rookie contract, ESPN reports.
Impact: Lewan, who the Titans selected 11th overall in May, was the final unsigned draft pick across the league. He'll join his teammates in reporting for training camp on Friday, before taking the field for Saturday's opening practice. Nonetheless, Lewan's role within the Titans' offense remains very unclear, as Tennessee already sports two accomplished and well-paid tackles in Michael Roos and Michael Oher. With that in mind, Lewan could spend his rookie season as a backup. Additionally, the former Michigan man has a trial date set for Oct. 28 over three misdemeanor charges stemming from an apparent bar fight last year.

News: Bonani remains on track to compete with undrafted rookie Travis Coons for the Titans' kicking job, the Tennessean reports.
Impact: While the report suggests that Bonani is the early favorite to replace Rob Bironas, he'll need to hold off Coons in training camp and during the preseason in order to secure the assignment. Until the competition is settled, it's a situation to avoid in fantasy leagues that employ individual kickers.

News: Lewan's trial regarding three misdemeanor charges will begin between Oct. 27 and 29, John Glennon of The Tennessean reports.
Impact: Lewan is facing three separate charges from an apparent assault last Dec. 1 -- one count of aggravated assault along with two more counts of assault and battery -- and his fate will seemingly be determined during the Titans' bye week. There was speculation that the incident would hinder his draft stock, but the organization opted to select the offensive lineman anyway with the 11th overall pick of this year's NFL Draft, despite having no clear opening on the offensive line. Expect him to settle into a reserve role behind veterans Michael Roos and Michael Oher as a rookie.
Thu. July 17, 2014 | STATS
News: Lewan will have a jury trial in Michigan in October. He is charged with one count of aggravated assault and two counts of assault and battery. He was told Thursday to return to Ann Arbor District Court on Oct. 27 for jury selection and trial the next day. The Tennessee Titans will not be preparing that week for a game.
Impact: The former Michigan offensive tackle is accused of punching an Ohio State fan after the Buckeyes beat the Wolverines last season. Lewan says he was breaking up a dispute and wasn't involved in a fight. Lewan was drafted No. 11 overall. He is one of three players drafted this year without a contract.
