News: Pryor has been diagnosed with a concussion.
Impact: Coach Rex Ryan clarified Sunday that Pryor was injured while covering a kickoff - not a punt return, as he originally thought - during drills Saturday when the returner was knocked into him. Pryor, the team's first-round draft pick, was not at practice and will be sidelined while he goes through the NFL's protocol for head injuries.

News: Amaro was sidelined in the middle of practice after tweaking his right knee.
Impact: Amaro, New York's second-rounder, says his knee buckled Sunday, the result of a nagging tendon injury he has felt throughout the offseason. He says he should be fine when the Jets next take the practice field on Tuesday.

News: Amaro aggravated a nagging right knee injury during Sunday's practice, the Daily News reports.
Impact: Coach Rex Ryan downplayed Amaro's current issue, describing it as knee tendinitis, with the report adding that the rookie tight end is expected to be ready for the Jets' next practice, which takes place on Tuesday. As training camp progresses, look for Amaro, the 49th overall pick in May's NFL Draft, to push incumbent Jeff Cumberland for slotting atop the team's TE depth chart.

News: The New York Jets have activated Colon from the active/physically unable to perform list, and he is practicing for the first time at training camp. Colon had offseason arthroscopic knee surgery in late May. He is in full pads and participating in some drills Sunday after missing the first three days of practice. Brian Winters, who started at left guard last season, and Oday Aboushi had been filling in for Colon.
Impact: Coach Rex Ryan said Saturday that Colon was "real close" to returning. The 31-year-old Colon was re-signed by the Jets in March to a one-year, $2 million deal. He started all 16 games last season, but was recovering from a torn right biceps in the season finale before dealing with the knee issue.

News: Head coach Rex Ryan confirmed Sunday that Pryor is dealing with a concussion, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.
Impact: Pryor sat out of Sunday's practice because of the injury, and will now have to go through the league mandated concussion protocol before returning to action. There's never a good timetable for concussion injuries like Pryor's, but there's no reason to think that it will cost him any games this season.

News: Colon (knee) practiced in pads Sunday at training camp, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.
Impact: Colon began training camp on the PUP list, but it sounds like he's healthy now, so he should be good to go for the team's preseason games.

News: Pryor (head) did not practice Sunday at training camp, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.
Impact: There hasn't been an update on Pryor's status since leaving practice Saturday, but it's obviously a bad sign that he's not back at practice yet. The safety was expected to step in as a starter right away, after going 18th overall in the 2014 NFL Draft, but an injury like a concussion could certainly set him back.

News: Pryor, the team's first-round draft pick, is being evaluated for a concussion after injuring his head during practice Saturday. Coach Rex Ryan says Pryor was hurt when he collided with a teammate while serving as a punt protector during a special teams drill early in the session. Ryan says the team was still awaiting test results for Pryor, who jogged off the field with a trainer after the play and remained on the sideline for most of the rest of practice.
Impact: The injury came on the first day the Jets wore full pads since training camp practices began Thursday. Pryor, the No. 18 selection out of Louisville, is a likely starter for the Jets opposite either Dawan Landry or Antonio Allen.

News: Ivory returned to action Friday after he was limited by a sore hamstring in Thursday's practice, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
Impact: Ivory's hamstring issue was downplayed as minor by Jets coach Rex Ryan, and the fact that he's back in action a day later reinforces that notion. He should be in line to see regular reps moving forward.

News: Babin is practicing with the New York Jets a day after signing a two-year deal. The 34-year-old Babin is expected to be a pass-rushing specialist. He was wearing No. 58 on Friday and listed as a linebacker, though he has also played defensive end.
Impact: Babin signed Thursday after agreeing to terms Wednesday, shortly before the team reported for training camp at SUNY Cortland. Babin had a team-leading 7 1/2 sacks last season for Jacksonville and was released in the offseason. He has 62 1/2 career sacks in 10 NFL seasons, including a personal-best 18 in 2011 with Philadelphia. He was a first-round draft pick by Houston out of Western Michigan in 2004 and also has played for Seattle, Kansas City and Tennessee.

News: Enunwa suffered a hip injury early in Thursday's work, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Impact: Training camp is especially important to fringe candidates like Enunwa, a sixth-round pick. The Jets don't believe the injury is serious.

News: Johnson was a full participant at practice for the first time since joining the New York Jets after recovering from offseason knee surgery.
Impact: Johnson signed with the Jets in April and said Thursday his right knee feels good. He had surgery to repair torn cartilage after playing with the injury most of last year. He ran for 1,077 yards, the second-lowest total of his career. He rushed for 2,006 yards in 2009 with Tennessee.

News: Colon will begin training camp on the PUP list with an knee injury that also held him out of minicamp, NJ.com reports.
Impact: Colon was initially expected to be back for the beginning of training camp, but being on the PUP list means that he can be activated whenever he is medically cleared. The ninth-year lineman injured his knee in the offseason, as well as tore his biceps in the 2013 season finale.

News: Ivory is dealing with a sore hamstring, though Rex Ryan downplayed the injury, according to Brian Costello of the New York Post.
Impact: We'll take the coach at his word for now, but we'll feel better if Ivory is back at full throttle in short order.

News: Vick received four reps in Thursday morning's practice, compared to 13 for Geno Smith, according to Brian Costello of the New York Post.
Impact: The Jets have decided that Vick is the clear No. 2 option - they're giving Geno Smith every chance to win the job. Vick's rushing ability (even at age 34) makes him an interesting fantasy lottery ticket, but Smith's play and durability will decide how much of Vick we see this year.

News: Smith received 13 first-team reps in Thursday's morning work, while Michael Vick received four, according to Brian Costello of the New York Post.
Impact: The Jets will give Smith every chance to win the starting job this summer; they said it in advance of camp, and their actions backed it up as camp opened.

News: Barnes (knee) was placed on the Jets' PUP list ahead of Thursday's first day of training camp, SFGate.com reports.
Impact: Barnes was placed on injured reserve in October of last season after a knee injury limited him to just five tackles and two sacks in his debut campaign for the Jets. With Rex Ryan's defense currently stocked at both outside linebacker positions, Barnes will be thrust into the thick of a deep competition to earn playing time once he's cleared for practice.

News: Johnson (knee) has been medically cleared by Dr. James Andrews to participate in training camp, Rich Cimini of ESPN New York reports.
Impact: Johnson has already impressed Jets brass with his speed during conditioning drills Wednesday, and will look to continue to make an impression as contact drills are gradually eased into the mix. The Jets took a risk on Johnson when they signed him to a two-year deal just two months after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus, but as it currently stands, the gamble is looking like it may pay off. The 28-year-old Johnson is coming off a season in which he posted the second lowest rushing total of his career, along with a career-worst 3.9 YPC, but he's eager to prove the doubters wrong. Johnson will likely be pushed for reps by Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell, but the veteran arguably has the most raw talent out of this group, even at his age. Regardless, Johnson will be comfortable with any role he's given, and will look to make the most of his opportunities. "I'm ready to do whatever they ask me to do," he stated.

News: Babin has agreed to terms with the Jets, NJ.com reports.
Impact: The Jets will be the 34-year-old Babin's seventh NFL team since being drafted in 2004 by the Texans. Babin's contract will be for maximum length of two years and no other details have been released as of yet. On the heels of a 2013 campaign in which he notched 40 tackles and 7.5 sacks for the Jags, Babin figures to serve as a situational pass rusher for the Jets.
