News: Thomas will miss the first few days of the Denver Broncos' training camp to attend the funeral of the grandmother who helped raise him in Georgia.
Impact: Thomas attended the Broncos' team meeting Wednesday, a day after his grandmother died, and received permission from coach John Fox to leave for a few days. He's expected to rejoin his teammates Monday. Thomas' agent and the Broncos have exchanged proposals on a long-term contract that general manager John Elway wants to get done within the next two weeks so that it doesn't become a distraction.

News: Thomas has been excused for the first four days of training camp following the death of his grandmother, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Thomas is coming off an excellent 2013 season that saw him catch 92 passes for 1,430 yards and 14 touchdowns. He'll once again be the Broncos' top wideout, and he could even see more red zone targets with Eric Decker now with the Jets.

News: Vickerson (hip) will not be placed on the training camp physically unable to perform list, the Broncos' official web site reports.
Impact: Vickerson suffered a dislocated hip last November and it appeared that he was not going to be healthy enough to participate in training camp. He will certainly be limited at practice, but he has a good chance of being ready by Week 1.

News: Harris (knee) will start training camp on the physically unable to perform list.
Impact: Harris suffered a torn ACL in January, so his placement on the training camp PUP list was considered a probability. The team has not decided whether he will start the regular season on the PUP list, but if he does, he will be forced to sit out the first six games.

News: Miller (knee) has been cleared for training camp, which begins Thursday, by Dr. James Andrews, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Miller, who tore his ACL in Week 15 last season, will apparently be a limited participant in the beginning of camp, while he likely won't play until the third preseason game. If he's able to get back to game-speed, Miller could be a solid source of sacks early on this season, although it should be noted that he does not garner many tackles out of the linebacker position, making him a weaker fantasy IDP.

News: Dreessen (knee) was designated by the Broncos as released/failed physical on Tuesday, the team's official site reports.
Impact: After catching 41 passes and five TDs in 2012, Dreessen -- who continues to deal with knee issues -- was limited to seven catches for 47 yards with a touchdown in 13 games last season. If/when he re-proves his health, Dreessen could resurface as a depth tight end option elsewhere.
