News: Welker (concussion) will increase his activity level in practice Monday as he continues to progress in the league's concussion protocol, ESPN reports.
Impact: Welker ran some routes in shorts and a T-shirt before Thursday's preseason game but did not play. He'll need to clear several benchmarks in the concussion protocol before he's cleared to play. We wouldn't rule him out for Week 1, but his status remains uncertain.
Sat. Aug 30, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Though he didn't play in the preseason, Harris (torn ACL) expects to play in Week 1, the Broncos' official website reports.
Impact: Harris will be eight months removed from a partial ACL tear, and while he's established as a solid cornerback, his role is rather uncertain. The Broncos had an active offseason at the position, adding Aqib Talib and first-round draft pick Bradley Roby to a group that already includes Harris and Kayvon Webster. With Talib seemingly locked in as an every-down player, it's unclear how the remaining playing time will be divided between Harris, Webster and Roby.
Sat. Aug 30, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Webster was hospitalized due to an illness following Thursday's preseason game against the Cowboys, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Webster and RB Ronnie Hillman fell ill, and while Webster seems to have gotten the wost of it, both players should be fine for next Sunday's opener against the Colts. It's still a bit unclear how the Broncos' cornerback group will shape up behind Aqib Talib, as Webster, Chris Harris (knee) and first-round draft pick Bradley Roby all look like viable candidates to start

News: Hillman was hospitalized due to an illness following Thursday's preseason game against the Cowboys, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Hillman and cornerback Kayvon Webster both left the stadium to go to a Dallas-area hospital, but only Webster stayed overnight. Expected to rejoin the team soon, Hillman will likely be fine for next Sunday's opener against the Colts. Should Hillman suffer any kind of setback, some combination of C.J. Anderson and Juwan Thompson will fill in as Montee Ball's top backup.

News: Webster and running back Ronnie Hillman didn't return with the Denver Broncos from their preseason finale in Dallas on Thursday night after falling ill. Both were taken to a hospital and Webster was kept overnight.
Impact: The Denver Post first reported the story Saturday. The Broncos confirmed that neither player flew with the team back to Denver but didn't provide any information about the nature of their illnesses.

News: Cornerback Kayvon Webster and Hillman didn't return with the Denver Broncos from their preseason finale in Dallas on Thursday night after falling ill. Both were taken to a hospital and Webster was kept overnight.
Impact: The Denver Post first reported the story Saturday. The Broncos confirmed that neither player flew with the team back to Denver but didn't provide any information about the nature of their illnesses.
Sat. Aug 30, 2014 | STATS
News: The Denver Broncos have released Vickerson and third-year safety Duke Ihenacho, a starter last season who had nine tackles in the Super Bowl.
Impact: The Broncos added plenty of depth following their Super Bowl loss to Seattle, and Vickerson and Inhenacho paid the price.
Sat. Aug 30, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Dysert was released by the Broncos on Saturday, the Associated Press reports.
Impact: Selected in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft, Dysert was unable to outpace Brock Osweiler for the honor of backing up Peyton Manning. Dysert is practice-squad eligible, though, so he may remain in the Broncos' organization.
Sat. Aug 30, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Vickerson was released by the Broncos on Saturday, the Associated Press reports.
Impact: Vickerson was slowed in training camp due to the dislocated hip that he suffered late last season. The nine-year veteran lost out in the defensive line rotation to offseason pickup Marvin Austin.
Thu. Aug 28, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Hillman did not play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Cowboys.
Impact: Not that there was any doubt, but Hillman's absence from Thursday's game essentially confirms that he'll enter the season as Montee Ball's top backup. However, the undersized Hillman doesn't profile as a three-down workhorse, so he'd likely split touches with C.J. Anderson and/or Juwan Thompson in the event of an injury to Ball.
Thu. Aug 28, 2014 | STATS
News: Manning has been docked a reported $8,268 for taunting Houston Texans safety D.J. Swearinger in a preseason game last week.
Impact: The Denver Broncos quarterback laid into the safety for hitting Wes Welker in the head, which left the slot receiver with his third concussion in 10 months. Manning was irked by the hit on Welker and after throwing a 29-yard TD pass to Emmanuel Sanders on the next snap, he ran up to Swearinger and let him know it.
Thu. Aug 28, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Latimer could see some snaps in the slot, especially in the red zone, if Wes Welker has to miss any time due to his most recent concussion, according to ESPN.com.
Impact: Latimer has mostly been quiet in the preseason, and has yet to catch a pass from starting quarterback Peyton Manning, but any talk of getting reps in the red zone is worth listening to. That being said, Manning has plenty of more-established options by the goal line, so Latimer's fantasy value remains somewhat limited. With Denver's starers sitting out, the rookie caught three passes for 66 yards on five targets in Thursday's preseason finale against the Cowboys.
Thu. Aug 28, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Tamme could get more reps in the slot with Wes Welker potentially missing time with a concussion, according to ESPN.com.
Impact: Tamme has become a forgotten man in Denver thanks to the emergence of Julius Thomas last season, but he's still a capable receiver who has played in the slot before. Despite the increased playing time, his fantasy value is still quite limited.
Wed. Aug 27, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Welker (concussion) won't play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Cowboys, but he has been exercising and will travel with the Broncos to Dallas, Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Klis adds that Welker's progress has been encouraging, but considering that the wideout has suffered three concussions since Nov. 17 of last year, the Broncos will no doubt proceed cautiously here in advance of Week 1.
Wed. Aug 27, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Coach John Fox indicated that Welker (concussion) is "in the exercise mode right now," Broncos Vice President of Public Relation Patrick Smyth reports.
Impact: While it's a positive indicator that Welker has progressed to that stage, Fox adds that the wideout "won't be back out there until he's completely well." Given that Welker has suffered three concussions since Nov. 17 of last year, the Broncos will no doubt proceed with caution with the receiver, though previous reports have suggested that there is some optimism with regard to Welker's possible Week 1 availability.
Tue. Aug 26, 2014 | STATS
News: Denver acquired McManus from the New York Giants for a conditional seventh-round pick in 2015.
Impact: McManus will fill in for the suspended Matt Prater after connecting on both of his field goal attempts, from 46 and 47 yards, and recording touchbacks on 10 of 11 kickoffs for the Giants this preseason. His 10 touchbacks rank second in the NFL this preseason.
Tue. Aug 26, 2014 | STATS
News: Denver released Ewald after acquiring first-year kicker Brandon McManus from the New York Giants for a conditional seventh-round pick in 2015.
Impact: Ewald was unimpressive at Broncos camp, never quite finding a rhythm at altitude despite working alongside Prater, whom he studied while in college.
Tue. Aug 26, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Ewald was waived by the Broncos on Tuesday.
Impact: Ewald was previously slated to handle the Broncos' kicking duties with Matt Prater suspended for the first four games of the regular season, but after Denver traded for Brandon McManus earlier Tuesday, Ewald was waived to make room on the team's roster.
Tue. Aug 26, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Coach John Fox suggested that Welker is doing "fantastic" as he goes through the NFL's concussion protocol, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Impact: Of course, given that Welker has suffered three concussions since Nov. 17 of last year, we'd expect the Broncos to proceed with caution with the wideout. With that in mind, the Denver Post suggests that Welker, who did not practice Monday, will probably be out the rest of this week. The report adds that there is hope within the organization that Welker will pass his concussion tests and be cleared in advance of the team's Sept. 7 season opener, but such an outcome certainly precludes any setbacks.
Tue. Aug 26, 2014 | RotoWire
News: McManus was acquired by the Broncos from the Giants for a conditional seventh-round pick Tuesday, NFL.com reports.
Impact: McManus was expected to be waived by the Giants, but the Broncos were wary of the undrafted rookie being claimed, so they pulled the trigger on a trade to secure his services. With Matt Prater suspended for the first four games of the regular season and Mitch Ewald waived on Tuesday, McManus becomes the favorite to handle Denver's kicking duties during the early season.
Mon. Aug 25, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Welker, who sustained a concussion Saturday, spoke with coach John Fox before practice Monday and said that he was "feeling good," the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Of course, with Welker going through the NFL's concussion protocol for the third time since Nov. 17, expect the Broncos to proceed cautiously with the wideout. At this stage, there's no timetable for his possible return to the field, which hinges on him being cleared by the Broncos' medical staff and an independent doctor. Meanwhile, ESPN.com relays that that the subject of retirement hasn't been a part of Fox's talks with Welker since the receiver's latest concussion. "That's not been brought up at all," Fox said. "I didn't sense that." For now, according to Fox, the Broncos are approaching Welker's situation one day at a time, while adding, "He's going through the protocol and will be out there when healthy."
Sun. Aug 24, 2014 | STATS
News: Prater's lawyer said the NFL initially threatened a yearlong suspension before agreeing to ban the Denver Broncos kicker four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
Impact: Harvey Steinberg said Prater's suspension was alcohol-related. He said Prater consumed a couple of beers while on vacation in between the end of the team's offseason workout program in June and the start of training camp in late July. Prater has been in the league's substance abuse program since he was charged with DUI on Aug. 12, 2011. An NFL spokesman declined to confirm the suspension, which was first reported by the Denver Post overnight Sunday.
Aug 24, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Anderson had three carries for 16 rushing yards and one catch on one target for negative three receiving yards during Saturday's preseason game against the Texans.
Impact: With Montee Ball back after requiring an emergency appendectomy two weeks ago, and Ronnie Hillman firmly entrenched as the No. 2, at least on Saturday, Anderson didn't see a lot of action and didn't produce nearly enough to get back in the conversation for more touches. With Ball and Hillman expected to play minimally, if at all, in the final preseason game, Anderson's opportunities to jump Hillman on the depth chart are nearly gone.
Aug 24, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thomas had four catches on four targets for 32 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Texans.
Impact: The expectations for Thomas were already high after his breakout 2013 season, especially with Eric Decker signing with the Jets in the offseason. With the news that Wes Welker could miss Week 1, after he suffered a concussion Saturday, Thomas could be the beneficiary of even more targets, particularly in the red zone.
Aug 24, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thomas failed to catch the only ball thrown his way during Saturday's preseason game against the Texans.
Impact: The pass from Peyton Manning came in the second quarter and was all the action Thomas saw on the night. Regardless of the minimal output, the goal was to get a few reps in and not get hurt, which he did successfully. Thomas is expected to lead the line on a powerful Broncos offense this season, which leaves him in a category of only a few elite fantasy wideouts.
Aug 24, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Ewald could begin the season as Denver's kicker with Matt Prater set to miss the first four games of the season due to a substance-abuse suspension, the Denver Post reports. Ewald missed his only field goal attempt, from 36 yards, in Saturday's preseason game.
Impact: It seems unlikely that Denver would give Ewald, an undrafted rookie free agent, the starting job rather than sign a veteran, but he's tops on the depth chart at the moment. He did make a 22-yard field goal in Denver's second preseason game.
Aug 24, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Latimer had one catch on three targets for 17 yards during Saturday's preseason game against the Texans.
Impact: Latimer's role in the offense has been limited during the preseason, and unfortunately all of his catches have come from backup quarterback Brock Osweiler (including Saturday's). With Wes Welker iffy for Week 1, after sustaining another concussion, Latimer could get a few more first-team reps, although it looks like Andre Caldwell is still ahead of him on the depth chart.
Aug 24, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Manning completed 21-of-27 passes for 243 yards with two touchdowns and an interception during Saturday's preseason game against the Texans.
Impact: Making up for some lost practice time with wideout Emmanuel Sanders, Manning threw both of his touchdowns to the former-Steeler, scoring on plays of 67 and 29-yards. Unfortunately, Wes Welker was diagnosed with a concussion after the game, and with his history of head injuries, he is considered iffy for Week 1, taking away one of Manning's favorite weapons, especially in the red zone. That being said, Manning has plenty of bigger targets, so a drastic decline in expected production isn't warranted.
Sat. Aug 23, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Prater will be suspended for the first four games of the regular season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: The suspension was alcohol-related, the Post reports. Prater has been in the league's alcohol program since he was charged with a DUI in 2011. With Prater suspended, it's not clear if Denver will stick with backup kicker Mitch Ewald or sign a veteran for the first four games.
Sat. Aug 23, 2014 | STATS
News: Welker suffered a concussion after taking a hit to the head from Houston defensive back D.J. Swearinger in a preseason game Saturday night.
Impact: Denver coach John Fox said Welker won't return to the field until he goes through the league's concussion protocol.
Sat. Aug 23, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Caldwell caught two passes for 18 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Texans, and Wes Welker was diagnosed with a concussion after the contest, Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports.
Impact: The injury carries added significance due to Welker's concussion history. Caldwell is next up to see work in the three-wide formations that Denver often utilizes, but second-round rookie Cody Latimer could also push for some snaps. As of right now, Welker can be considered questionable for Week 1.
Sat. Aug 23, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Welker (head) has been diagnosed with a concussion, Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports.
Impact: While never to be taken lightly, concussions are a particularly serious issue for Welker, who suffered two toward the end of last season. With the diagnosis confirmed after Saturday's game, the veteran slot man now looks shaky for Week 1. If Welker can't go, Andre Caldwell and/or Cody Latimer could see more playing time in three and four-wide sets, with Emmanuel Sanders quite possibly taking on some of Welker's targets.
Sat. Aug 23, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Sanders (quad) caught five passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns on eight targets in Saturday's preseason game against the Texans.
Impact: On a quiet night for Demaryius Thomas, Sanders and Wes Welker combined for 14 targets. Sanders did most of his damage before Welker left to be evaluated for a concussion, a development that isn't to be taken lightly. Given Welker's extensive concussion history, an extended absence might be coming. That would leave quite a few more targets to go around, with Sanders, Andre Caldwell and perhaps Cody Latimer the most likely beneficiaries.
Sat. Aug 23, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Working as the No. 2 running back, Hillman had 24 yards on seven carries and five yards on one reception in Saturday's preseason game as the Texans.
Impact: With Montee Ball (appendix) making his preseason debut, Hillman fell into the backup role that he figures to occupy at the beginning of the season. While C.J. Anderson also got some first-team work, Hillman remains the favorite to serve as Ball's top backup. UDFA Juwan Thompson could also be a factor in the event of a Ball injury.
Sat. Aug 23, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Ball (appendix) had 13 yards on four carries and 21 yards on four receptions in Saturday's preseason game against the Texans.
Impact: Ball touched the rock on the first five offensive plays of the game as the Broncos thrust him right into things. It was an interesting way to start his preseason, and should answer any questions about lingering effects from the appendectomy. Locked in as the starter, Ball should be active through the air and near the goal line, in addition to getting most of the early-down work.
Sat. Aug 23, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Welker left Saturday's preseason game against the Texans in order to be examined for a potential concussion, Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports.
Impact: After missing practice Wednesday and Thursday for an unknown reason, Welker emerged banged up on a D.J. Swearinger hit, which was flagged for unnecessary roughness. Any head injury is especially worrisome considering Welker missed three games late last year due to multiple concussions. Until the severity of the injury is known, consider the veteran wideout day-to-day.
Sat. Aug 23, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Miller (knee) is slated to make his preseason debut Saturday versus the Texans, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Despite suffering a torn ACL in Week 15 last year, Miller has put in a number of full practices since he was cleared for action at the beginning of training camp. While it's unclear how much action he'll be handed, the eminent pass-rusher, who has racked up 35 sacks in 40 career games, appears poised to start at strongside linebacker in the Broncos' regular season opener against the Colts.
Sat. Aug 23, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Ball (appendix) is expected to make his 2014 preseason debut Saturday against the Texans, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Ball, who underwent an appendectomy on Aug. 4, was medically cleared for full practice participation Monday. After being initially held out of 11-on-11 team drills, Ball received reps and carries with the Broncos' first-team offense Thursday, which sets the stage for him to see some action Saturday. While it wouldn't surprise us to see him eased back into the mix Saturday, a return to action, in any capacity, would confirm that Ball is on track to be good to go for Week 1.
Thu. Aug 21, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Welker (unspecified reason) was not spotted at Thursday's practice, Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports.
Impact: The report notes that it's the second straight day Welker has missed, but so far there has been no mention of what's keeping the wideout off the field. We'll relay that information when it is available.
Thu. Aug 21, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Sanders (quad) returned to practice Thursday, Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports.
Impact: The report suggests that Sanders worked at full speed Thursday, which bodes well for the wideout's chances of suiting up for Saturday night's preseason game against the Texans.
Wed. Aug 20, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Norwood will be placed on injured reserve after tearing his ACL at practice Wednesday, the Broncos' official site reports.
Impact: Losing Norwood is a hit to the Broncos' wideout depth, as well a special teams hit, given that he was in the the team's punt return mix.
Wed. Aug 20, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Sanders (quad) did not practice Wednesday, ESPN.com reports.
Impact: On the plus side, Sanders, who has not practiced since last Thursday and didn't play Sunday against the 49ers, was able to do some work with the team's strength and conditioning coaches off to the side on Wednesday. "We're just getting that quad back to 100 percent," coach John Fox noted. The wideout's status for Saturday's game against the Texans is thus cloudy, though there is nothing to indicate that Sanders' injury will linger into the regular season.
Wed. Aug 20, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Ball (appendix) took part in individual drills, along with getting in some 7-on-7 work with the Broncos' starters at Wednesday's practice, ESPN.com reports.
Impact: Ball, who is bouncing back from an appendectomy, returned to practice Tuesday, with his increased participation Wednesday another positive step that points toward the running back being ready for action in advance of Week 1.
Wed. Aug 20, 2014 | RotoWire
News: There are fears that the knee injury Norwood suffered at practice Wednesday could be a torn ACL, ESPN.com reports.
Impact: While that has yet to be confirmed, if that is the case, it would represent a hit to the Broncos' receiving corps depth, with Norwood making a push to stick with the team as a reserve wideout/punt returner.
Tue. Aug 19, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Ball (appendix) did not participate in Tuesday's team practice against the Texans, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Ball, who is still recovering from a recent appendectomy, won't be risked this week in what are usually high-contact intra-squad scrimmages. However, he did participate in non-contact portions of Tuesday's session, his first practice work since being sidelined. Expected to be the Broncos' No. 1 running back this season, Ball likely won't feature in either of Denver's remaining two preseason games, leaving Ronnie Hillman and C.J. Anderson go receive first-team reps. Nonetheless, Ball still should be ready for Week 1 of the regular season, although that would be his first game action since last season.
Tue. Aug 19, 2014 | STATS
News: Ball returned to practice Tuesday, participating in individual drills in his first on-field workout since undergoing an appendectomy Aug. 4.
Impact: Ball sat out the team drills when the Broncos squared off against the Houston Texans.
Mon. Aug 18, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Ball (appendix) will visit with a doctor Monday to determine whether he'll be cleared to practice this week, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Even if he's cleared, Ball may be held out of contact practices this week by the team's medical staff, which would almost certainly keep him from playing in the third preseason game Saturday against the Texans. With starters traditionally not playing in the final exhibition, it's possible that Ball will head into Week 1 with no game action under his belt this summer. Ronnie Hillman will continue to start in Ball's absence, with C.J. Anderson also getting some reps with the first team.
Aug 17, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Sanders (thigh) will not play in Sunday's preseason game versus the 49ers, ESPN.com reports.
Impact: Sanders missed Friday's practice with a thigh ailment, which comes after he sat out a few practices at the beginning of this week with a quadriceps injury. Following last week's zero target debut with the Broncos, Sunday represented a fresh opportunity for Sanders to improve his rapport with quarterback Peyton Manning in a game setting. Now, with Sanders ruled out, he'll have to wait another week to make his first catch as a Bronco.
Aug 17, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Roby will start Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers opposite Aqib Talib, after Kayvon Webster twisted his ankle during practice Saturday, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Webster has been starting at right cornerback in place of Chris Harris, who continues to recover from a torn ACL, but if Roby has a good performance against some strong 49ers wideouts Sunday, he could stake a claim for a starting job.
Aug 17, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Webster suffered an ankle injury during practice Saturday, and is expected to miss two-to-three days of practice, after an MRI returned negative, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: Webster had been starting at right cornerback, with Chris Harris still recovering from a torn ACL, but after the injury, rookie Bradley Roby will get the start for Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers.
Aug 17, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Ball (appendix) said Sunday that he could practice this week, Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports.
Impact: It's not entirely certain where Ball sits in his recovery from an appendectomy, but he is making good progress in his recovery, so consider his return on track. Ball is hoping to play in at least one preseason game, but it remains to be seen if he will get enough work in this week to play in the Broncos' next exhibition contest Saturday.
Aug 17, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Barrow suffered a lower leg injury during Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers, the Denver Post reports.
Impact: The Broncos are already very thin at linebacker, with the loss of Danny Trevathan (knee) the biggest void, and Barrow looked headed for a roster spot and playing time until Sunday's injury. He'll undergo additional tests Monday to determine the extent of the injury.
Aug 17, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Talib had two tackles during Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers.
Impact: Talib will be the Broncos' top cornerback this season, although the other side of the field has some question marks, with Chris Harris returning from a torn ACL, and rookie Bradley Roby competing with Kayvon Webster (ankle) for playing time. If opponents decide to exploit the weaknesses on the other side of the field, Talib could be left with few passes to defend.
Aug 17, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thompson had six carries for 10 rushing yards and two catches on two targets for 19 receiving yards during Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers.
Impact: Thompson continues to try to get in the conversation for the No. 3 running back job with C.J. Anderson, but a performance like Sunday's certainly isn't going to keep him competitive. Anderson scored a touchdown in the game and seems closer to Ronnie Hillman on the depth chart than Thompson is to Anderson.
Aug 17, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Latimer caught the only pass thrown his way during Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers, but it was good for a 33-yard touchdown.
Impact: Unfortunately, the pass came from backup Brock Osweiler and not from starter Peyton Manning. Latimer continues to get a few reps here-and-there with the first team, but he hasn't broken into the regular rotation yet, which certainly limits his fantasy upside. He was brought in to be Eric Decker's replacement, but with Demaryius Thomas, Wes Welker, Julius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders looking for targets, not to mention the running backs, Latimer might find it tough to make an impact this season.
Aug 17, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thomas caught five passes on five targets for 37 yards during Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers.
Impact: While he only played a limited number of snaps, Thomas still managed to lead the team in targets, catches and receiving yards. With Eric Decker now in New York, Thomas could see an uptick in targets this season, including in the red zone, making him one of fantasy's elite.
Aug 17, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thomas had three catches on three targets for 35 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers.
Impact: Thomas dealt with a bruised thigh earlier this month, but there was nothing Sunday that indicated it's still bothering him. As long as he's healthy, Thomas is an elite fantasy tight end, who could see even more red zone targets this season with Eric Decker now with the Jets.
Aug 17, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Hillman started Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers and finished with four carries for 19 rushing yards and one catch on two targets for six receiving yards.
Impact: Hillman got the start in place of Montee Ball, who is still sidelined after undergoing an emergency appendectomy last week. C.J. Anderson, who is competing with Hillman for the backup job, ran for a touchdown, although his 3.2 YPC average fell well short of Hillman's 4.8 on Sunday. Neither back separated himself from the other, so Hillman remains the front-runner for the No. 2 spot through two preseason games.
Aug 17, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Anderson had nine carries for 29 rushing yards and a touchdown, as well as two catches on two targets for 11 receiving yards during Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers.
Impact: Ronnie Hillman got the start in place of Montee Ball (appendix), but it was Anderson who found the end zone between the two. That being said, Anderson didn't really outplay Hillman, which still leaves him as the No. 3 back on the depth chart for the time being. The good news for Anderson is that he appeared fine after suffering a concussion last week and he wasn't outplayed by Juwan Thompson, who appears to be on the outside looking in for a top-3 running back spot.
Aug 17, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Osweiler completed 10-of-13 passes for 105 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers.
Impact: Osweiler followed Peyton Manning's dominant performance in a Broncos' rout that eventually finished 34-0. It was a solid performance, although Osweiler isn't likely to see much of the field during the regular season, if Peyton Manning stays healthy.
Aug 17, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Manning completed 12-of-14 passes for 102 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers.
Impact: Manning picked apart the 49ers in his two series, including going 8-for-8 on the second drive, while culminated in a 17-yard touchdown pass to Julius Thomas. Manning seems to already be in midseason form, and he'll likely play a little more in the team's third preseason game before sitting out the fourth to stay healthy for the season opener Sept. 7 against the Colts.

News: Seven months post-surgery, Miller is showing flashes of his old self and looks determined to atone for a trouble-filled 2013 season that began with a six-game drug suspension and ended with a torn right ACL in Week 16.
Impact: Displaying his old form in 1-on-1 pass-rushing drills and 11-on-11 team drills, it's apparent we're seeing the Von Miller of old, the one who set a franchise record with 18 1/2 sacks in 2012, not the player who was bogged down by extra pounds and the weight of the world last season when he managed just five sacks.
