Goodell: NFL watching Skins protests

Commissioner Roger Goodell says the NFL has to pay attention to

those who are offended by the Washington Redskins nickname.

Goodell told 106.7 The Fan on Wednesday he is ”always sensitive

to what impacts on the league” and that includes ”making sure

that we’re doing what’s right here.”

He says, ”If we are offending one person, we need to be

listening and making sure that we’re doing the right things to try

to address that.”

Goodell didn’t take a position on the nickname. He says it’s up

to Redskins owner Dan Snyder to decide whether it should be

changed.

Snyder has vowed never to change it.

Momentum for a change seems to be growing. A group of Native

Americans is planning a protest Sunday during Washington’s game at

Green Bay.
