Redskins-themed restaurant set to open in Virginia

Published Feb. 11, 2016 5:11 p.m. ET

The Washington Redskins announced on Thursday that a Redskins-themed "polished casual" restaurant will soon open in Ashburn, Virginia. The restaurant, called Hail+Hog Kitchen & Tap, is scheduled for a late-spring opening in the One Loudoun Downtown District.

From the press release:

Hail+Hog will prominently feature the storied Washington Redskins NFL franchise, winners of three NFL Super Bowls and five total league championships since the team's founding in 1932. The Redskins are an integral part of the D.C. region, and it is a natural fit to open this showcase property near the team's Loudoun County headquarters in Ashburn, Va.

The name Hail+Hog pays homage to the history of the Redskins and their longstanding anthem, "Hail to the Redskins," along with a tribute to their storied offensive line of the 1980' and early '90', "the Hogs."

-- Downstairs will feature a prominent bar showcasing unique hand-crafted cocktails along with an extensive wine list and the best local craft beers.

-- The first floor also will be home to its own radio/television studio designed for the Redskins to broadcast radio and television programming.

-- The second floor will have its own entrance and have wall-to-wall TVs, a rooftop bar and a giant fire pit.

So, what about the food? That hasn't been announced yet. However, if we had to guess at some menu options, here goes:

1. The Fourth-Quarter Milkshake: A standard shake with chunks of cookies poured in the middle. WARNING: Choking danger.

3. Running-Back Wings: The sauce changes flavor every week, and they never announce it beforehand.

4. The Albert Haynesworth Fajitas: Ground beef -- instead of steak -- that has a 70/30 fat-to-meat ratio. Zero sizzle.

5. The George Allen: PB&J with a side of milk.
