LANDOVER, Md. -- Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson hurt his left hamstring in the first quarter against Miami and will not return.

The injury occurred on the first play of Washington's second series Sunday. Jackson went deep down the right sideline and was overthrown. He clutched the back of his leg after the pass fell incomplete.

Jackson received treatment on the sideline, and the team determined he would not be healthy enough to continue.

Jackson caught 56 passes for 1,169 yards in 2014, his first season with the Redskins. He led the league with an average of 20.9 yards per catch.
