Report: Patriots' Wilfork tears Achilles

Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork suffered a torn Achilles and will likely be placed on injured reserve, the Boston Globe reports.

Wilfork was injured early in the Patriots’ 30-23 win over the Falcons. The team announced that Wilfork suffered an ankle injury, but Wilfork was seen leaving the stadium in a boot Sunday night.

Rookie Joe Vellano filled in for Wilfork, collecting a sack. Wilfork hasn’t missed a game since 2009.

The Patriots are 4-0 for the first time since their near-perfect 2007 season.
