Vikings WR Mike Wallace likes Minnesota's vertical offense

Wide receiver Mike Wallace was a far less explosive Miami Dolphin than he was a Pittsburgh Steeler. Through four seasons with the Steelers, Wallace averaged 17.2 yards per reception. The last two seasons in Miami, however, the speedster averaged only 12.8 yards per reception.

Wallace blames the decline on the Dolphins' offensive scheme and believes his impact in the Minnesota Vikings offense can be a lot closer the one he had in Pittsburgh, according to ESPN's Ben Goessling.

"I think it's more so [like] my first four years," Wallace told ESPN. "It's a vertical offense, [rather] than a short, West Coast offense. You go down the field a lot more here, more what I'm accustomed to."

Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has been spending extra time with his new weapon, according to Goessling's report, in hopes of creating a better chemistry than the one Wallace shared with Miami's Ryan Tannehill.

"We’re glad to have Mike," Bridgewater told ESPN. "He’s going to add some speed to that room and all of those guys are going to continue to elevate their games."
