Vikings RB McKinnon out of boot, still not practicing

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 8:31 p.m. ET

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) Minnesota Vikings running back Jerick McKinnon is out of the walking boot that was protecting his injured ankle earlier this week. But he was still not able to practice Friday as the team prepares for its game at Chicago on Monday night.

Punt returner Marcus Sherels (wrist), kick returner and receiver Cordarrelle Patterson (concussion), safety Andrew Sendejo (ankle) and guard Zac Kerin (hand) also did not practice on Friday.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer says he is not ready to rule anybody out for the Bears game yet. The Vikings have one more practice, on Saturday, before departing for Chicago on Sunday. Typically, Zimmer likes to see his players be able to practice by Friday before they are cleared to play.
