Venables gives Anthony a rave review, calls him the 'total package'

The New Orleans Saints are hoping they landed a good one in first-round pick Stephone Anthony. If the word of Brent Venabls counts for anything, the team just drafted a stud.

In an interesting point that Mike Triplett of ESPN makes, Venables apparently has had quite the connection with future Saints middle linebackers.

"Everywhere Brent Venables has been, he has coached a future New Orleans Saints middle linebacker. Mark Simoneau at Kansas State. Curtis Lofton at Oklahoma. And now Clemson’s Stephone Anthony, whom the Saints drafted with the 31st pick in Round 1." Triplett explains.

As Venables told ESPN when speaking about those three players above, "those are three damn good ones."

The current defensive coordinator of the Clemson Tigers broke down each of his former middle linebackers, while giving Anthony a very strong evaluation.

"Stephone, he’s probably the total package when you put it all together,” Venables said.

Believe me, Venables had a whole lot more to say about the former Tiger, but that one line is exactly what the Saints are hoping they landed with the No. 31 pick in the 2015 NFL draft.
