Trevor Siemian weighs in on the Tony Romo-to-Broncos speculation

The Denver Broncos have won three of their past four, scoring at least 20 points in each game during that stretch. But despite the defending champs sitting at 7-3, their plight at quarterback is impossible to ignore.

So it came as little surprise that recently benched Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo reportedly is interested in joining Denver next season. The Broncos are among the best teams in the league despite Trevor Siemian completing just 60 percent of his passes this season.

But Siemian is taking the report in stride.

“That’s so farrrrrr out of my reach,’’ Siemian said, via 9 News in Denver. “That’s way beyond my pay grade.’’

There certainly is precedent for the Broncos to pursue the oft-injured Romo. John Elway acquired a then-36-year-old Peyton Manning after he was coming off neck surgery. The move paid off in the short-term, culminating in the Broncos winning the Super Bowl last season.

Does Elway roll the dice on Romo, who will be 37 at the start of next season and is coming off back surgery? The offseason in Denver will be intriguing once again.
