Pro Bowl tight end Tony Gonzalez told is rejoining his Atlanta Falcons teammates at training camp Saturday.
After spending the first three days of camp with the team, Gonzalez left the team to return home.
“It's time for me to get back there," Gonzalez said. "I need to get some work with (quarterback) Matt (Ryan) and the offense. I'm excited."
Gonzalez also said he plans to play in next Saturday's preseason game against the Tennessee Titans.
Gonzalez had initially planned to retire following the 2012 season, his 16th in the NFL and fourth with the Falcons. But after a 13-3 season in which he caught 93 passes for eight touchdowns and helped the Falcons advance to the NFC Championship Game, Gonzalez decided to come back for one more season.
