Texans promote Brian Gaine, Jon Carr
HOUSTON (AP) The Houston Texans have promoted Brian Gaine to director of player personnel and Jon Carr to director of college scouting, the team said Friday.
Gaine joined the Texans in February 2014 as the director of pro personnel after a five-year tenure with the Miami Dolphins' player personnel department, last serving as assistant general manager from 2012-13.
Gaine, who will be entering his 17th season in the NFL in 2015, has also worked in the scouting department for the Dallas Cowboys (2005-07) and New York Jets (1999-04), rising to assistant director of pro scouting with both organizations.
Carr, who is replacing Mike Maccagnan as the Texans director of college scouting, has served as a national college scout for the Texans the past three seasons and will enter his ninth year with the organization in 2015. The Texans have also hired Matt Jansen as college scouting coordinator.
