OC Dirk Koetter on o-line: 'They're like your kids'

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have an interesting offensive line, as it includes two veterans in left guard Logan Mankins and center Evan Smith. After that, it's a few young options such as left tackle Donovan Smith and right guard Ali Marpet. The Buccaneers also got some unfortunate news when they found out that right tackle Demar Dotson would miss half the season with a sprained knee.

While they attempt to find the best rotation as the team heads into the regular season, offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter is apparently plenty confident in the group he has. According to Pat Yasinskas of ESPN, he even went as far as calling the group his kids.

“When you’re looking at it from a coach’s standpoint, we never look at it like that," Koetter told ESPN. “Your guys are your guys. They’re like your kids, right? Your kids get in trouble sometimes. They’re still your kids. Your kid isn’t the starting quarterback or he isn’t first chair on the tuba, that’s still your kid. The linemen we’ve got, those are the linemen we’ve got. Shoot, I think they’re all five going to the Pro Bowl."

It's good to hear Koetter's confidence in his line, but it's going to something absolutely worth watching when the Buccaneers open up their season against the Tennessee Titans.
