Phoenix fog causes flight delays, cancellations for Super Bowl fans

PHOENIX -- Officials at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport say flight operations are back to normal after dense fog caused numerous delays and cancellations this morning.

Airport spokeswoman Heather Lissner said Sunday that all departing flights are back on schedule. However, arriving flights are still trying to catch up.

Due to the fog, Super Bowl Sunday got off to an inconvenient start for hundreds of passengers trying to get to Phoenix for Sunday's game.

Lissner says the fog led to 30 arriving and departing flights being canceled. Another 80 flights coming and going were also delayed.

She says travelers should still check their flight status with the airline.

Kickoff for the matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots went as scheduled at 3:30 p.m. EST at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.
