Report: Rams’ Fletcher out for season

Not even the bye week could stem the St. Louis Rams’ injury problems, with cornerback Bradley Fletcher ruled out for the season after colliding with receiver Mike Sims-Walker in practice Wednesday.

Fletcher tore his anterior cruciate ligament and will require surgery, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. Sims-Walker hurt his shoulder, but the injury was not believed to be serious.

"I feel bad for him," coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "Another rehab. . . . Tough business."

St. Louis has now lost three of its top four cornerbacks entering the season to injured reserve — Ron Bartell hurt his neck in Week 1 and Jerome Murphy injured his ankle in training camp.

For now, the Rams starters will be Justin King and 36-year-old veteran Al Harris, who is coming off his own knee surgery.
