Not even the bye week could stem the St. Louis Rams' injury problems, with cornerback Bradley Fletcher ruled out for the season after colliding with receiver Mike Sims-Walker in practice Wednesday.

It's the ugly but unavoidable side of football. Take a look at the major injuries of 2011.

Fletcher tore his anterior cruciate ligament and will require surgery, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. Sims-Walker hurt his shoulder, but the injury was not believed to be serious.

"I feel bad for him," coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "Another rehab. . . . Tough business."

St. Louis has now lost three of its top four cornerbacks entering the season to injured reserve — Ron Bartell hurt his neck in Week 1 and Jerome Murphy injured his ankle in training camp.

For now, the Rams starters will be Justin King and 36-year-old veteran Al Harris, who is coming off his own knee surgery.
