The San Chargers could have a big-name coach waiting to replace Mike McCoy.

Current New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton has privately expressed interest in McCoy's current gig, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.

The Super Bowl-winning Saints coach would be a catch for whatever team — be it the Dolphins, Chargers, Giants, etc — lands him. But that could take some creativity; Payton is under contract through 2017 and the Saints might ask for draft pick compensation for him.

Remember: It's all hearsay this week. Payton's rumored interest is just rumored interest until the Chargers decide on McCoy's fate.
