The New Orleans Saints are not only bulking up their offensive and defensive units, but their front office as well. According to Nick Underhill of The Advocate, the team has hired on former New York Jets director of player personnel Brendan Prophett.

As Underhill points out, Prophett will be brought onto the team as a college scout, an opening that came about when the team let both Brian Adams and Ryan Hollern go.

Prophett was with the Jets for 15 seasons, but was let go by GM Mick Maccagnan last month, and he spoke about it simply being a part of the business.

“That’s the one aspect of the business, and it happens a lot when general managers comes in,” he told The Advocate. “There’s a transition. The guys we parted ways with were good guys, and actually did a very good job in terms of helping me with my first draft.”
