Rookie wide receiver DeVante Parker explosive in OTA's

Published May. 27, 2015 5:11 p.m. ET

The Miami Dolphins continued the overhaul of the wide receiver position this offseason when they selected Louisvile's DeVante Parker with their first round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Parker is expected to team up with 2014 second round draft pick Jarvis Landry to provide a talented 1-2 punch for Ryan Tannehill to throw to.

So far in OTAs the expectations are being met by Parker. As the Dolphins hit the practice field this week, Parker has been turning heads with his first couple of practices in a Miami uniform.

Tannehill who is fresh off signing a big contract last week raved about Parker to the team's official website saying, "We’ve been seeing (it) for the past few weeks just working on air, but today against the defense you got to see him make some tough catches with defenders on his back in traffic, and that’s what you want to see. You’ve got a guy with a big body who’s able to make strong catches with his hands in traffic. That’s when you’re able to cut it loose.”
