Robert Griffin III feels better now than he has in a long time

It's still early, but all signs point to Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III taking a step forward in 2015. In his second year in Jay Gruden's offensive scheme, Griffin has looked much more well-versed, and in turn, he feels much better.

“Yeah, without a doubt. No ifs, ands or buts about it,” Griffin said, per The Washington Post. “I feel great, second year in the offense, feel great about the guys around me working hard to get better, and that’s all you can ask for.”

Earlier during the week, Gruden heaped praise on Griffin for how much he improved from a mental standpoint within the offensive scheme. Griffin shrugged off the positive praise, instead opting to keep focused and not let the outside noise play any role.

“I don’t really hear that stuff,” Griffin said on Wednesday, when asked about Gruden's comments. “We’re focused on getting better every day, steady progress. Glad he said some nice things, though.”

Griffin is confident in the entire offense now that they've had more time to build continuity. He deflected attention from himself and admitted that he sees improvements across the board.

“I feel like we’ve had a few great months of growing as a team,” he said before later adding, “I just think we’re all feeling better about what we’re doing, and being the second year in an offense, we know more of what we’re doing. And me, as a player, you always have to be confident, and sometimes you have to throw a little swag on it, and that’s what it is. So I’m just having fun with my guys and they’re giving it back to me, so I appreciate it.”

Griffin will continue to prepare on his own in anticipation of when the Redskins convene again for training camp on July 29th.
