Report: Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has 'significant' ankle injury

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has a "significant" right ankle injury and his availability to play in Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams has been put into question, reports NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

Wilson was injured in the third quarter of Seattle's 12–10 victory over the Miami Dolphins when he was sacked by Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. Wilson did not miss any snaps in the game.

After the game, Wilson gave an update on the ankle and said he expects to play next week.

"It feels a little sore," Wilson said. "I'll be all right -- just a little ice, a little prayer, a lot of treatment."

"I was pretty limited, but I was telling coach Carroll and some of the trainers when I'm 43-, 44-, 45-years-old and still playing, that's probably what I'll look like out there," Wilson added.

Wilson completed 27 of his career-high 43 passing attempts for 258 yards with one touchdown and one interception against Miami. Wilson also lost a fumble and rushed four times for 16 yards.
