The Denver Broncos suffered a heartbreaking loss in New England on Sunday night, but it wasn't for lack of effort by running back Knowshon Moreno.

Instead, he may be delivering his heartbreaker for the Broncos' next game — and perhaps more?

According to The Denver Post, the Broncos' running back was wearing a walking boot on his right foot and using crutches in the locker room, suffering an ankle injury in the 34-31 loss to New England in Foxboro, Mass., on Sunday night.

Moreno limped off the field in overtime after running for a career-high 224 yards.

After the game, he told The Post: "My line just did a great job of blocking for me. We lost, that's what it's all about. It's getting the 'W.' "
