Former University of Washington and NFL defensive lineman Reggie Rogers has pleaded not guilty in Seattle Municipal Court to a domestic violence assault charge.

KIRO reports he was arrested Monday night at his home after his wife told police he hit her on the head with a flashlight in an argument about his drinking. He entered his plea Wednesday.

The 49-year-old Rogers has a history of six drunken driving convictions, including a crash in 1988 in Pontiac, Mich., that killed three teenagers.

A first round draft pick by the Detroit Lions in 1987, Rogers returned to the NFL after a prison sentence for vehicular homicide but was released in 1992 by the Tampa Bay buccaneers.
