Ravens' Rice to make first public comments since arrest
MAY 23, 2014 7:49a ET
Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice will address the media Friday for the first time since his arrest on an assault charge against his then-fiancee Janay Palmer stemming from an incident at an Atlantic City casino in February.
Palmer, who is now Rice's wife, will also attend the 3 p.m. ET news conference, the team announced.
Rice was accepted into a diversionary pre-trial intervention program that will allow him to avoid jail time. If Rice completes the program, the charge will be dismissed.
The Ravens and the NFL have waited for the legal proceedings to be completed before possibly punishing Rice.
