Rams owner might fight a Raiders-Chargers deal in Los Angeles

The NFL's three-team race to Los Angeles has been a fairly civil one.

That civility could turn to ugliness in the upcoming months, though.

According to CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora, St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke is viewed as a big wildcard in league negotiations. He already owns land in Inglewood, Calif., but if things don't go his way, he could reportedly make life tough for any team looking to relocate.

"With Kroenke procuring the land and a finance deal on his own, and his St. Louis lease up again at the end of the season, he just might -- ironically -- take a page from Al Davis' book," La Canfora wrote, hinting at the possibility of legal action.

Kroenke's stadium plans seem to have taken a backseat to the Carson, Calif. project shared by the Chargers and Raiders. Both of those AFC West teams have taken a diplomatic approach to relocation, while La Canfora writes Kroenke has been more "rogue" in his dealings.

All three teams could end up getting what they want, but LaCanfora predicts a lot of legal action if Kroenke goes "nuclear" and forces his way to L.A.
