Brandin Cooks is oozing with confidence heading into 2015, making his potential upside something that has more fans than a bit excited. As Sam Spiegelman of NOLA.com explains, Cooks is embracing his role as a "veteran" receiver for the New Orleans Saints as well.
"First of all, people may call it pressure but I don’t see it as pressure," Cooks said Thursday after Saints minicamp concluded. "It’s part of the game. Guys are gone left and right from this locker room. What you do about that is you step up and make plays. So there’s no pressure at all. I’m just going to go out there and be me and be who I am."
Cooks may have only played in 10 games last season, tallying 53 receptions for 550 yards and three scores, but he’s expected to have a huge second season with the Saints. Cooks oddly is considered a veteran, but he has no problem having that tag attached to his name. On top of that, he’s ready to produce like a veteran would.
