Eagles reportedly could deal Bradford to Browns as draft nears

Chip Kelly's wheeling and dealing appears to be far from over. With the NFL Draft hours away, the Cleveland Browns believe they have a good chance to acquire Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford for one of the Browns' two first-round picks, according to multiple reports.

Peter King of MMQB.com was the first to report this latest development.

The Eagles appear to be trying to put together a package of picks in order to move up to the No. 2 spot in the draft to take former Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota, who played for Kelly while he was the head coach in Oregon.

There was much speculation in the offseason that Kelly would attempt to trade up to the Tennessee Titans' spot at No. 2 in order to take Mariota. But then Kelly pulled off a stunning deal with the St. Louis Rams in March that sent quarterback Nick Foles, a fourth-round pick in 2015 and a second-round pick in 2016 to St. Louis for former No. 1 pick Sam Bradford and a fifth-round pick in 2015.

Many assumed Kelly had given up hope of landing Mariota, who is very familiar with Kelly's up-tempo offensive system, in the draft after that deal. But Kelly appears to be making a last-second push to acquire the player he called "the most talented kid I coached in college."

But will a package of the Eagles' No. 20 pick and either the Browns' No. 12 or No. 19 picks be enough to entice the Titans? The Eagles most likely would have to sweeten the pot, possibly throwing in a future first-round pick.

In 2012, the Washington Redskins dealt three first-round picks and a second-rounder to the St. Louis Rams to move up four spots to draft Robert Griffin III. The Eagles would be making a much larger leap in draft position this year.

The Browns have discussed trading their two first-round picks to the Titans for the No. 2 pick, according to ESPN, though both teams denied the report.
