The New York Jets took on the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football. How did they do with a 1-5 record staring them in the face?

It was not a good night for the New York Jets, as they suffered their fifth loss of the season to the Arizona Cardinals. For most of the game, the Jets’ offense was really poor, and that resulted in a change.

After another poor game by Ryan Fitzpatrick, the Jets decided to go with Geno Smith in the fourth quarter. Even though there was no miracle comeback, it now raises the question about who will be the Jets’ starting quarterback.

For the Cardinals, it was a rather easy win for them. They did an excellent job on defense stopping Matt Forte, and that resulted in the Jets being forced to throw the ball. On offense, the Cardinals were able to control the game with a strong running game. Coming into Monday night, we all expected to see the Cardinals continue to torch a poor Jets’ secondary. While the Cardinals did have success through the air, they didn’t need to go crazy throwing the ball with a comfortable lead.

Three stars:

David Johnson, Cardinals — The best player on the field for either team was Cardinals running back David Johnson. Against a good Jets’ rushing defense, Johnson totaled over 100 rushing yards, and also had three rushing touchdowns

D.J. Swearinger, Cardinals — One of the plays that sealed the deal for the Cardinals was a red zone interception on Ryan Fitzpatrick. D.J. Swearinger of the Cardinals was the man who made the big play to help keep the Jets out of the end zone when they were threatening.

Carson Palmer, Cardinals — It wasn’t a huge night for Carson Palmer, but it was an effective one. Palmer helped contribute to a balanced attack on offense, which resulted in the easy win.

Highlights:

Next up for the Jets will be a return back home to play the Baltimore Ravens. Due to the struggles at quarterback, it will be interesting to see who is starting for the Jets.
