Recent New York Giants rumors have been about the status of their two injured cornerbacks. Will Eli Apple and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie be able to play on Monday night?

For most of the week, New York Giants rumors have been about the status of cornerbacks Eli Apple and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Due to Monday night being a huge game against the Minnesota Vikings, the Giants need to be healthy.

Monday Night Football kicks off two straight weeks on the road for the Giants against the Vikings and Green Bay Packers. Both the Vikings and the Packers are potential playoff teams, and these games will be important tests for the Giants.

After losing a tight game to the Washington Redskins, the Giants cannot afford to start a losing streak. This week, all eyes have been on Apple and Rodgers-Cromartie. Apple is dealing with a hamstring injury, and Rodgers-Cromartie has a groin injury.

Both of these injuries are never good for football players, and it has kept them out of practice this week. According to Jordan Raanan, it isn’t looking good for either on Monday night. The Vikings aren’t a team that is going to look to throw the ball 50 times. However, they are capable of hurting you through the air.

The addition of Sam Bradford has saved the Vikings’ season, as they are 3-0 even with Adrian Peterson being sidelined with a knee injury. Bradford has already developed a good chemistry with wide receiver Stefon Diggs. This season, Diggs has totaled 20 receptions, 325 receiving yards, and one touchdown.

Diggs will certainly be the main target of Bradford, and the Giants will likely have to deal with him with a short-handed secondary. Furthermore, missing two key cornerbacks like Apple and Rodger-Cromartie can spell doom for the Giants on Monday night. Finally, the Giants will have to hope that the extra day’s rest can get at least one of them healthy enough to play.
