The New England Patriots overcame a 25-point deficit to defeat the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI on Sunday night. The game was also the first Super Bowl to head into overtime.

Tom Brady has Proven Himself as the GOAT

The Patriots went down by as much as 25 points when they trailed 28-3 after an Atlanta touchdown halfway through the third quarter. After that, Brady single-handedly led his team all the way back.

Trailing 28-9 after three, Brady led three scoring drives and the team scored 19 consecutive points. The game would wind up going into overtime with the teams tied at 28.

In overtime, Brady made the throws to set New England up for the game-winning touchdown from running back James White win the game. How does this make Brady the GOAT?

As he has done so many times throughout his 16-year career, Brady led his team to a victory. For the fifth time, he led his team down the field to win a Super Bowl title. He did with a bunch of players who will never see Canton and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

    Brady is Better than Montana

Many people like to believe that former San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Joe Montana is the GOAT because of his Super Bowl performances. Montana went to four Super Bowls with the 49ers, winning all four. He threw 11 touchdowns and no interceptions in the four title games.

What those that believe that don’t know is the team Montana had when he went to those four Super Bowls from 1981-1990. Montana played with several Hall of Famers. Several of those players include wide receiver Jerry Rice, running back Roger Craig, and safety Ronnie Lott.

Had Montana not had those Hall of Fame players, he may not have gotten to, let alone won those four Super Bowls. Brady doesn’t need any Hall-of-Famers. He has won all five of his titles with a bunch of star players, but not too many that will be in the Hall of Fame.

After winning his fifth title, Brady is the greatest quarterback in NFL history.
