Teammate: RG3 should be able to say, 'I didn't make a play'

It has been a difficult season for Robert Griffin III. He started this season in recovery mode from a knee injury sustained last year, and his play has slipped. His quarterback rating of 102.4 as a rookie has slipped to 83.6 this year.
Griffin has been average, but “RG3” is supposed to be some kind of comic book hero. And it sounds like some folks are ready for him to experience a comeuppance.
“If we're going to win games, we need to win games with our guy saying, 'At the end of the day, I didn't make a play,' regardless of if it wasn't him," Moss said on the "LaVar and Dukes" show on 106.7 The Fan in Washington, D.C. "And that's how I feel. Because that's what we're out there to do."
Well, that wasn’t so subtle. But, look, you got your spot blown up by a teammate. It happens. Ain’t nothin’ gonna break your stride, ain’t nothin’ gonna hold you down. Oh no. You’ve got to keep on movin’.
But then, right out of nowhere, BOOM! Here comes Sonny Jurgensen. Yes, the old-time Redskins quarterback stepped to the mic during his Radio Network broadcast and twice suggested Griffin should be benched in favor of Kirk Cousins.
“Why not play Cousins?” Jurgensen said during the broadcast.
His broadcast partner asked whether he was ready to pull the plug on Griffin.
“It’s not pulling the plug, it’s getting a change,” Jurgensen said. “Make a change. Can it be any worse? You get four yards passing in a half? I would look at the other quarterback, see if he can make something happen. It’s not the end of the world. They take out pitchers, don’t they?”
Ok, so ... wow! Things are boiling up quickly. But, after all, Jurgensen is just a radio analyst, and they get paid to stir the pot, so there’s nothing to see here, folks.
Oh, but there is Redskins coach Mike Shanahan to see. Say, Mike, what did you think about Robert Griffin III heading into the draft?
Goodness gracious, Robert. Better lay low for a while. They’re coming for you.
