Vikings GM: Indoor stadium could lead to Bridgewater's breakout

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater played his first two seasons as a professional in an outdoor venue, TCF Bank Stadium. In 2016, however, the team plans to move back indoors and play home games at the new U.S. Bank Stadium.

Vikings general manager Rick Spielman told PFT Live that he believes the switch could help Bridgewater enjoy a breakout season.

Via ESPN's Andrew Krammer:

I think it’s just in general, quarterbacks playing indoors [play better]. If you look at Teddy’s stats and how he performed when we were indoors, in Detroit or even out in Arizona, some of those ideal conditions, we feel he can take another step forward. But he still has to play outdoors.

Bridegwater has played 24 outdoor games in his NFL career, according to ESPN, and has completed 63.6 percent of his pass attempts for averages of 6.6 yards per attempt and 202 yards per game. In a decidedly smaller indoor sample size (five games), his completion percentage swells to 70.6 and his averages rise to 8.1 yards per attempt and 258 yards per game.

With Bridgewater already on the rise, the move from TCF Bank to U.S. Bank could help him take the Vikings to the next level.
