Michael Strahan, a "FOX NFL Sunday" analyst, was threatened by a homeless man Tuesday, according to multiple reports.
Police reportedly said that Andre Johnson, 25, was holding a knife and said he wanted to "kill Michael Strahan" in Times Square. Strahan, who co-hosts talk morning show "Live! With Kelly and Michael," was not aware of the incident until later in the afternoon, according to the reports.
After being detained, Johnson said "I was there to kill Michael Strahan," police sources reportedly said. Johnson was charged with attempted assault as a felony, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. It was not immediately known why Johnson reportedly threatened the former football star.
Strahan, who played 15 years for the New York Giants and won two Super Bowl titles, will be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame next month.
