Miami Dolphins offensive line banged up

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

The Miami Dolphins lost a pathetic game last Sunday to the Ravens and will return home this weekend to face a dissappointing but still good football team in the Arizona Cardinals. And they will do it with a banged up offensive line.

The Dolphins will most likely be without center Mike Pouncey again this week and it’s uncertain when or if he will return this year. That leaves Anthony Steen to start this weekend again but there is a hiccup. Steen is hurt.

Steen was a full participant at practice on Wednesday as he is dealing with both shoulder and foot issues but the fact that he practiced bodes well for his availability.

Kraig Urbik who serves as the primary guard back-up is also banged up as well. Urbik has a knee injury and it limited his practice participation. Last week the Dolphins offensive line struggled against the Ravens top rated defensive front. This week they will face a Cardinals team that is ranked number two overall.

The Cardinals are number three against the pass and 11th against the run and their defensive front will be a struggle for the Dolphins. Miami can not afford to have another game like last week as the playoff picture is beginning to tighten up.

All season the Dolphins have really only been as good as their offensive line has played. When the line is playing well the Dolphins seem to play far better on offense and that also seems to give the defense motivation as well.

The good news is that both Urbik and Steen should play this week and Branden Albert and Laremy Tunsil have had no setbacks after playing last weekend.
