Veteran kicker Matt Stover to retire
Former NFL kicker Matt Stover will retire after a stellar career in which he scored more than 2,000 points.
The Ravens say the 43-year-old will make the announcement on Thursday afternoon at Baltimore's training complex.
Stover ranks fourth in NFL history with 2,004 points. He made 471 field goals, connecting on 84 percent of his attempts.
Drafted by the New York Giants in the 12th round of the 1990 draft, Stover spent his first season on injured reserve before signing as a free agent in 1991 with the Cleveland Browns. He played in Cleveland through the 1995 season before making the move with the Browns when the team came to Baltimore in 1996.
He kicked for the Ravens for the next 13 seasons and finished his 20-year career in 2009 with the Indianapolis Colts.
