Manningham out for Giants, McKnight in for Jets

Published Dec. 24, 2011 12:02 p.m. ET

New York Giants wide receiver Mario Manningham is inactive for the team's game because of a knee injury that kept him out of practice this week.

Manningham, who had three catches for 57 yards against Washington last Sunday, was replaced by Victor Cruz in the starting lineup.

Tight end Jake Ballard, defensive end Osi Umenyiora and linebacker Mark Herzlich had already been ruled out for Saturday's game with injuries. Bear Pascoe is starting for Ballard, while Jason Pierre-Paul is in for Umenyiora.

Jets running back Joe McKnight, the NFL's leading kick returner, is active after being questionable with a separated right shoulder and hyperextended elbow. Defensive back Marquice Cole, who missed last Sunday's game with a knee injury, and defensive lineman Ropati Pitoitua are among the Jets' inactives.
