St. Louis Mayor: 'I'm moving on' from NFL

Many in the city of St. Louis are struggling to take the Rams' departure in stride, including Mayor Francis Slay.

Although NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said he left the door open for a potential return to St. Louis during discussions with Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon, Slay doesn't seem to be interested in hypothetical scenarios that involve pro football coming back to his city.

Via Brian Kelly of KMOX St. Louis:

I’m moving on. It’s very disappointing in the way the NFL handled this. As I said … we’re moving on.

The Rams played home games in St. Louis from 1995-2015. In January, they announced their relocation to Los Angeles, where they played from 1946-1994. Although the old-school L.A. teams were decidedly more glamorous, St. Louis was home for the franchise's only Super Bowl victory.

As the Rams re-settle on the West Coast, the coping process continues for Slay and thousands of other St. Louis fans who feel abandoned by the team and the league.
