Lions' Devin Taylor denies grabbing Aaron Rodgers' facemask

Was it a facemask or wasn't it?

A day after a controversial penalty with no time left on the clock gave the Packers a final play, which they converted into the game-winning touchdown on a Hail Mary to beat the Lions 27-23, there is still uncertainty, even among those involved.

Detroit defensive end Devin Taylor, who was flagged for apparently grabbing Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers' facemask, told ESPN during media availability on Friday that he still does not believe the call was correct.

"I didn't believe I touched it," Taylor said.

As for why the flag was thrown, Taylor said he didn't get an explanation from the officials but added, "It's whatever the refs call. I can't control whatever they decide. I can just play ball, keep going."

Rodgers was insistent after the game Thursday night that it was a legitimate penalty.

"It was a facemask," Rodgers said. "I was looking for the flag afterwards. I don't really flop any calls. That was a legit facemask."

FOX Sports officiating expert Mike Pereira agreed with Rodgers, saying that the call would be made "90 percent of the time."
