LeSean McCoy on Chip Kelly: He doesn't 'respect the stars'

LeSean McCoy appears as though he's still harboring some hard feelings for his former coach in Philadelphia.

In the past two years, Kelly has dealt McCoy and quarterback Nick Foles, cut wideout DeSean Jackson and let wide receiver Jeremy Maclin go via free agency.

McCoy told the Inquirer he still hasn't talked to Kelly since he was traded to the Buffalo Bills for linebacker Kiko Alonso. McCoy added that his former coach called him twice but McCoy didn't answer.

McCoy said he intends to call Kelly soon and doesn't hold a grudge, but he did feel disrespected with how the trade transpired. McCoy said his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, let him know about the deal.

"He called up and he said, 'Hey, it's not a joke. Eagles are trying to trade you to the Bills,'" McCoy said. "I'm like, 'What?'"

McCoy initially wasn't on board with the deal but he had a change of heart after the Bills reworked his contract and gave him a five-year, $40 million deal.

"Money wasn't the first reason to make me want to come here," McCoy said. "Even when I knew [about the contract offer], I was like, 'I'm not going there. I don't give a freak what they give me, I'm not going.' And then I realized it was the best for me. This is a team that wants me. Coach Ryan is a winner and he wants to run the ball."
