Brady's laughable tackle attempt the 'highlight' of Pats' woeful first half

Published Nov. 24, 2013 9:27 p.m. ET

The Patriots had a lot of trouble holding on to the ball in the early going of Sunday's showdown against the Broncos. Apparently, some of them -- cough, Tom Brady, cough -- can't tackle either.

The star quarterback turned into a de facto defender in the first quarter when running Stevan Ridley fumbled the ball. Broncos linebacker Von Miller picked it up and had just one guy to beat end route to the end zone.

Yup, that would be Brady:

Now, I'm not going to sit here and say the Patriots quarterback tried to avoid a collision, but it would be prudent for him to do so. After all, Miller is made out of steel and Brady can't risk doing damage to his throwing shoulder.

What's more, the Patriots fumbled the ball five more times after this one before halftime.
