Jimmy Graham and Russell Wilson developing quick bond

The Seattle Seahawks were the beneficiary of one of the most high-profile trades in recent league history when they acquired tight end Jimmy Graham from the New Orleans Saints back in March.

Commenting on his time with quarterback Russell Wilson thus far, Graham believes they are already ahead of schedule:

“That stuff takes time, but honestly me and Russ have been on kind of this accelerated learning curve. He just gets it up and gives you an opportunity to be great,” Graham said, via NFL.com. “We’ll be keep working on that, and we’ll be just fine come the season, because that’s a big thing. That’s all about the connection, that’s all about knowing what each other is going to do and what each other likes.”

Graham could very well turn out to be the missing link in the Seahawks’ offense—a missing link that should make the team even more dynamic in 2015. As for targets, Graham understands he may not see the multitude he received when he caught passes from Drew Brees in the Saints pass-heavy scheme.

However, the key for Graham will be to make the most out of the targets he does receive:

“I know there will be times — big moments in a game where I’m going to have to go out there and make a play,” Graham said. “That’s what I’m focusing on.”

It appears that Graham and Wilson are bonding both on and off the football field. The tight end accompanied Wilson and some other teammates on a trip to Hawaii shortly after he was traded. It was also recently reported that Wilson attended Graham’s former manager’s funeral.

What seemed to be a rocky situation that had Graham feeling extremely disgruntled has now evolved into a natural relationship. It should be fascinating to watch the pair perform live during the regular season.
