Jets reportedly decline option on tackle Ryan Clady, making him a free agent

The free-agent depth at offensive tackle appears to be getting a bit deeper. The New York Jets opted not to pick up the option on offensive tackle Ryan Clady, according to multiple reports Wednesday.

Clady, who was due to make $10 million in 2017, has been named to two Pro Bowls. The Jets cut the 30-year-old tackle before Wednesday’s deadline, which would have triggered a $2.5 million bonus.

Clady, who spent his first eight years in the league with the Broncos, was limited to just nine games last season in New York due to a season-ending shoulder injury.
