Jerry Jones admits 'I don't have any idea' about Tony Romo-Dak Prescott quandary

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones' insistence upon giving Tony Romo the starting quarterback position over rookie Dak Prescott just got a little cloudier on Tuesday.

After long avowing that "Tony is our No. 1 quarterback," the Dallas owner seemed to be taking a less definitive stance about handing the reins back to the 36-year-old starter when he returns from back injury, especially after Prescott threw an impressive 247 yards and three touchdowns in the Cowboys' 30-16 win over the Packers in Lambeau Field on Sunday.

Indeed, Jones said on his weekly radio show on Tuesday that nothing is set in stone.

“I don’t have any idea, no one does as to what the situation will be a game or games down the road,” Jones said on his weekly radio show on 105.3 The Fan, via the Fort-Worth Star Telegram.

“We don’t have any idea. The main thing is we’re all looking at the same music and we all feel the same thing. The team is positive with each other. We feel like we can make mistakes and overcome them. Everybody feels good about all of what we’re doing.

“But we also feel equally good based upon the best thing you go in the past about Romo. So we don’t have to be definitive in drawing bright lines right now.”

Especially since Prescott has led the Cowboys to a 5-1 start to the season.
