Jay Cutler: I'm happy with the election results, Donald Trump

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is pleased with the results of the 2016 Presidential Election, he told reporters in his Thursday afternoon press conference.

Republican nominee Donald Trump defeated Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton to succeed Barack Obama as President of the United states. Trump will take office on January 20, 2017.

“I’m happy with the results,” Cutler said. “I’ve supported Trump for a while. 'm not going to dive into it. I know it's a sensitive issue, but I like where it's going.”

Cutler has thrown for just 625 yards and two touchdowns on the season as the Bears are 2–6 in the NFC North. He completed 20-of-31 passes for 252 yards and one touchdown in last week's win against the Minnesota Vikings.

Trump was also backed by New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick.
