Jamison Crowder Turns Screen Into Huge Touchdown (Video)

Washington Redskins second-year receiver Jamison Crowder turned a short screen into a monster touchdown against the Giants in Week 3

The Washington Redskins have a ridiculous amount of depth at the wide receiver position. First-round pick Josh Doctson inactive? Whatever, we’ll just turn Jamison Crowder loose on you.

Earlier in their rivalry battle with the New York Giants, the Washington Redskins received a huge play from DeSean Jackson to cut the lead to 21-16. Big passing plays to Jackson are not out of the ordinary, but it looks like the Giants forgot that slot receiver Jamison Crowder is capable of scoring big plays if you let him.

Crowder took a simple screen pass out of the left slot, and he turned it into a 55-yard touchdown reception. Before that play, Crowder didn’t seem like a big factor in the game. But the man who has been targeted on a surprisingly high number of important passes turned this seemingly innocuous dink-and-dump pass into six points.

The former fourth-round pick out of Duke looked crazy fast on that play and the Giants thought that a third-and-15 pass would go to someone down the field. Instead, the Redskins asked Kirk Cousins to make the safe throw to Crowder and the blocking in front of him did the rest. I mean, seriously; look at how all of the offensive linemen hustled ahead of Crowder. That’s called teamwork.

Thanks to Crowder’s touchdown, the Redskins took a 23-21 lead on Eli Manning and the Giants, and Cousins is having himself a GAME. The Redskins QB had completed 15-of-25 passes with 10 yards per pass attempt, two big touchdowns, and no back-breaking interceptions to speak of to that point.
