Gus Bradley: Marqise Lee may be back in two weeks

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley provided injury updates Wednesday on a pair of high-profile players the team is counting on to be major contributors this seasons.

Bradley said wide receiver Marqise Lee, who has been out with a hamstring injury the past two weeks, is on pace to return in two weeks. The coach said an injury like Lee's could take as long 6-8 weeks to recover from, but indications are the second-year receiver won't be out that long.

“Everything I hear, he’s making really good progress,” Bradley said, per the Florida Times-Union. “Where you’re hoping for four weeks, could be 6-8 or somewhere in there. Everything now is back to where it’s four weeks to where it’s leaning more towards that. So, it’s a good sign.”

The coach also said defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks, who tore his right ACL in Jacksonville's season finale against the Houston Texans last December is also progressing in his recovery. The Jaguars hope Marks will be ready in time for the Week 1 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

“He’s going to get tested just to see where his quad strength is,” Bradley said. “That’s a big reading for us to see where he’s at, but everything says that he’s right on schedule.”

Marks led Jacksonville with 8.5 sacks in 2014.
