Source: Jags interview Jim Schwartz for defensive coordinator

In their search for a new defensive coordinator, the Jacksonville Jaguars have interviewed former Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz, according to FOXSports.com senior NFL reporter Alex Marvez.

Schwartz spent five seasons as head coach of the Detroit Lions from 2009-13. Most recently, he served as defensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills during the 2014 season. During his year in Buffalo, the Bills led the NFL in sacks and allowed just 18.1 points per game, fourth lowest in the league.

After leaving the Bills following Doug Marrone's departure as head coach, Schwartz spent the 2015 season as a consultant to the NFL's officiating department. Marrone is now a Jacksonville assistant.

The 49-year-old Schwartz also served eight season as defensive coordinator with the Tennessee Titans before being hired by the Lions in 2009.

Jacksonville fired defensive coordinator Bob Babich after a season in which the Jaguars allowed an average of 28 points per game, second highest in the NFL.
