Blake Bortles throws 3 TDs, snaps Indy's AFC South streak
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The longest division winning streak in NFL history is over.
Blake Bortles threw for three touchdowns and ran for a score -- all in the second half -- and the Jacksonville Jaguars beat Indianapolis 51-16 on Sunday and ended the Colts' 16-game winning streak in the AFC South.
The Jaguars (5-8) scored on offense, defense and special teams in the same game for the first time since 2011, the franchise's most complete game under third-year coach Gus Bradley.
It helped Jacksonville gain ground in the muddled division, at least on the Colts (6-7).
Indianapolis' division streak was the longest in NFL history. The Colts' previous loss against the AFC South came on Dec. 16, 2012, at Houston.
The Jaguars had lost six in a row in the series, but ended that streak with a dominant second-half performance. Jacksonville outscored Indy 42-3 after the break and finished with its most points in a regular-season game in franchise history. The Jags beat Miami 62-7 in the 1999 postseason.
Seven different players scored for Jacksonville in this one.
Bortles completed 16 of 30 passes for 250 yards, with TD passes to Allen Hurns, Allen Robinson and Julius Thomas. Bortles has eight TD passes in the past two weeks and set a franchise record by throwing 10 over a three-game span.
Andre Branch scored on a 49-yard fumble return. Rookie Rashad Greene returned a punt 73 yards for a score.
And Denard Robinson, who replaced injured starter T.J. Yeldon (knee), scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Fans chanted, "We want 50! We want 50!" when Bradley opted to go for it on fourth-and-goal from the 1 with 2 minutes remaining. Bortles leaped over the line for his first rushing touchdown of the season.
It was the second straight lopsided loss for the Colts, who lost 45-10 at Pittsburgh last week.
Matt Hasselbeck threw for 252 yards before leaving with a rib injury. He came into the game banged up, and surely the Colts have to wonder whether star Andrew Luck can return next week.
The game was dull for the first 28 minutes, with the teams combining for nine punts and three field goals.
But three fumbles provided a spark.
Bortles failed to handle a high snap from Stefan Wisniewski, and Robert Mathis landed on it in the end zone for a touchdown and a 13-3 lead.
Bortles had the Jaguars on the move on the next possession, but fumbled when Mike Adams stripped him of the ball on a sack. Yeldon saved a touchdown by running down Clayton Geathers.
Branch stripped Hasselbeck of the ball on the ensuing play, picked it up and rumbled 49 yards for a touchdown. Jason Myers missed the extra point -- his league-leading seventh miss of the season -- and Jacksonville trailed 13-9 at halftime.
But Bortles and the Jaguars were a different team after the break. He found Hurns for an 80-yard score down the sideline, and the Greene scored on the punt return after Indy's ensuing possession.
When Bortles hit Robinson for a touchdown late in the third, the only thing left was to see how many points Jacksonville would score.
