Jags CB House: Julio Jones 'the kind of receiver every team wants'

As the Jacksonville Jaguars prepare to host the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, the Jaguars know they have a challenge ahead of them in trying to contain Falcons star receiver Julio Jones.

Jones leads the NFL in receptions and yards, providing plenty of long afternoons for the cornerbacks charged with defending him. Jacksonville's Davon House, one of those tasked with keeping Jones in check on Sunday, said the five year veteran possesses few weaknesses to his game.

Via the Florida Times-Union:

Jones has caught 109 passes on the season, including seven in Atlanta's 38-0 loss to the Carolina Panthers last week. Although he's piled up plenty of receptions and yardage this season, Jones hasn't scored a touchdown since Nov. 1.

"He’s the kind of receiver every team wants," House said. "The size is more dangerous than the speed. I worked out with him a little bit this offseason and I didn’t know he was that strong until I saw the weight that he was pushing around in the weight room.”

House said his strategy going into the game is to focus on limiting big plays.

If House and the Jaguars can keep Jones out the end zone, Jacksonville will go a long way towards limiting an Atlanta offense that is averaging 9.6 points per game over the last three weeks.

“Know that he’s going to get his catches,” House said. “The main thing is to keep the explosive plays down.”
